In Daughter of the ForestEdit

Cormack is sixteen when the Lady Oonagh comes to Sevenwaters. One day, he is influenced by Oonagh to hurt his dog, Linn, while he is practicing fighting. This leads him to doubt his integrity, as though Oonagh caused it, it was him that did the blow. During the curse, Cormack is one of the least affected by it, because he tends to see the world in black and white and not in greys. Sorcha comments that Cormack focuses on the present and is not very imaginative, and that helps him deal with his situation. At the end of the novel he is freed from the curse along with his brothers and later becomes a warrior, accompanying Liam and Diarmid into battle with Northwoods.

When Diarmid leaves Sevenwaters to seek the Lady Oonagh, Cormack goes after him, thinking to persuade him to see reason. They eventually encounter their father, Lord Colum, who has come searching for them. The brothers join him on his quest to find Ciaran and free him from the Lady Oonagh's clutches. They succeed, with Ciaran's half brother Conri's help, and take him back to the nemetons in the forest of Sevenwaters to raise Ciaran there.

Cormack is killed during a daring battle on the Islands by a sword to his heart. Diarmid dies avenging him.
